LANDSCAPES: Before and After Barragán
LANDSCAPES: Before and After Barragán
The Coffee Table, New Haven CT
April 2002
Artist Statement:
“This recent work expresses the experience of landscape through monotype print and collage. I strive to portray the essential character of a place using line, shape, color, and form as minimally as possible – what is the smallest gesture needed to evoke and convey genius loci? All of this work was greatly influenced by the work of Mexican architect Luís Barragán, whose buildings profoundly reflect, celebrate, and engage landscape concisely and poetically.”
